Flex-Industrial Vacancies Grow in Metro DC


WASHINGTON, D.C.--GVA Advantis presents highlights from its second-quarter report on the metro Washington, DC industrial market.

Highlights include:

--Overall, the flex-industrial vacancy increased during the second quarter of 2008, with vacancies increasing to 10.8 percent from a first quarter rate of 10.4 percent.

--In accordance with the slight increase in vacancy rates during the second quarter, flex vacancy ended the second quarter at a 14.7 percent vacancy, up slightly from a first quarter rate of 14.5 percent, and industrial vacancy increased to 8.2 percent from a first quarter rate of 7.8 percent.

--Despite a positive increase in sales volume during the second quarter, uncertainty about the direction of the economy is still a big question among investors.
