Marcus and Millichap Sues Former Sales Agent and his New Brokerage Firm, Greysteel, for Alleged Fraud and Conversion

CALBASAS, CA – Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, the nation’s largest real estate investment services firm, has sued Maryland sales broker Ari Firoozabadi (top right photo)and his new brokerage firm, Bethesda, Md.-based Greysteel Company LLC, for more than $1 million in damages.

On July 17, Marcus & Millichap filed a lawsuit against Firoozabadi and Greysteel in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County located in Rockville, Md., alleging that Firoozabadi had “intentionally failed to disclose to Marcus & Millichap listings and other properties that he was actively working to bring to market in an effort to misappropriate the fees from those listings and jumpstart his new brokerage company, Greysteel.”

“Far more important than the damages that Marcus & Millichap will collect is the consistent precedents we continue to uphold toward protecting our clients, agents and employees and to reinforce our policies, procedures and emphasis on professionalism which have been cornerstones of our culture and brand since the firm was founded 41 years ago,” according to Evan Fetters (lower left photo), assistant General Counsel for Marcus & Millichap.
