Cathy Woolard |
ATLANTA, GA – CrowdVested, an online crowdfunding platform
focused on commercial real estate, announced that long-time public affairs
consultant and former Atlanta City Council President Cathy Woolard has
joined the firm’s Board of Advisors.
Woolard brings an extensive and formidable resume to
CrowdVested, where she will join seven other Atlanta-area business executives
on the firm’s advisory board. The board provides strategic advice to the
CrowdVested management team.
“The addition of Cathy Woolard to our advisory board will
help CrowdVested strengthen and expand its mission to enable real estate
developers to raise funds for new projects in Atlanta,” said Grady Thrasher,
CEO of CrowdVested. “It takes vision to succeed in what we are attempting in
Georgia, and Cathy has always been a visionary.”
When Woolard became Atlanta City Council president in 2002,
she was the first woman to do so. She was an early proponent of the Atlanta BeltLine
and supporter of the city’s tech community, first through her involvement with
iVillage.com and then as a lobbyist for the American Electronics Association.
She also has been
heavily involved in community development efforts, serving as a consultant to
the Georgia Transit Coalition and Citizens for Progressive Transit.
