ORLANDO, FL --- The FAMU Foundation Board of Directors is hosting the “FAMU Rising Reception,” a major fundraiser and sponsorship reception at the University Club of Orlando, 150 E. Central Blvd. (32801) on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.   

The foundation’s special guest for the evening is NFL icon, businessman and motivational speaker Emmitt Smith.

Individual tickets are $1,000 with three higher sponsorship levels which are 100 percent tax-deductible contributions for scholarships.

John Crossman, CEO of Crossman & Company and Chair of the FAMU College of Law Dean’s Advisory Council who is hosting the fundraiser / reception said the purpose of the event is to engage sponsors – law firms, business leaders and members of the broader community – who want to invest in downtown Orlando and support diversity.

Crossman emphasized the ultimate goal of the fundraising campaign and sponsorships is to help students afford tuition without accumulating major debt upon graduation so the FAMU College of Law can continue to be a valuable contributor to the greater Orlando community. 

FAMU College of Law graduates have served the community for decades as leaders in government and public service as well as Orlando ’s top law firms and large corporations including Lockheed Martin and Walt Disney World.
