Artist Bonnie Kelso to design largest public mural in downtown Summerlin, NV, transforming exterior garage walls at 1700 Pavilion

Bonnie Kelso

LAS VEGAS, NV The Howard Hughes Corporation®, developer of the Summerlin® master planned community, announced the selection of Southern Nevada artist Bonnie Kelso to create the largest public mural in Downtown Summerlin®, the community’s 400-acre walkable, mixed-use urban core.

Kelso’s design will transform the north- and west-facing exterior walls of the parking garage of 1700 Pavilion—the 10-story Class-A office tower currently under construction and actively leasing at Downtown Summerlin.

Kelso’s design will be installed at 1700 Pavilion by Wall Print Las Vegas the first week of August.

Kelso’s design will transform the north
- and west-facing exterior walls of
the parking garage of 1700 Pavilion—
the 10-story Class-A office tower currently
 under construction and actively leasing
at Downtown Summerlin.

The office building was designed by Hart Howerton, an interdisciplinary planning, architecture, and interior design firm.

The mural, which is designed in panels to accommodate the open spaces between levels, measures more than 120 feet long and more than 54 feet wide on both sides.

Kelso, a Summerlin resident since 2013, was chosen from the more than 20 artists who responded to a request for proposal (RFP) to transform the two parking garage walls.

Kelso’s design for the new mural was selected for its unique perspective that allows guests walking past the building to enjoy a different visual experience than what is viewed from Summerlin’s active, outdoor lifestyle.

Danielle Bisterfeldt

“As we develop Summerlin, we thoughtfully consider how design can shape the community—providing exceptional experiences both within the buildings and throughout the open public spaces,” said Danielle Bisterfeldt, SVP, Marketing & Consumer Experience, Summerlin.

“We are committed to the power of public art to help define a sense of place and identity, and this mural has provided an ideal opportunity to highlight our Southern Nevada talent and select an artist whose design reflects her strong passion for our community.”

“My design was inspired by what I love most about living in Summerlin—from listening to music in the park and dining outdoors, to exercising along the many trails and playing with my children in parks filled with beautiful native plants and wildlife,” said Kelso.

Downtown Summerlin, NV

“My design also includes a nod to our local Air Force and Howard Hughes Jr.’s passion for afar."

Most importantly, Kelso’s vision is authentic to her own Summerlin experience. Her design’s clean simplicity and use of color reflects the nearby Red Rock Canyon and celebrates aviation.

" I hope these elements combined with the majestic ridgelines of nearby Red Rock Canyon convey Summerlin’s strong sense of community and appreciation for nature.”

Kelso attended the Rhode Island School of Design, where she majored in printmaking and spent a semester abroad in Rome.

The building's design exemplifies Summerlin’s commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle, offering bike storage to encourage cycle-to-work options.

The $22.5 million sale closed on July 7 and exceeds the previous high for the community by $7.5 million. Both buyer and seller are prominent hedge fund managers out of New York City.

Jeremy Browne

Located at 12203 Tillinghast Circle in Palm Beach Gardens, the 9,655-square-foot home features a modern décor, stunning high ceilings, 5 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms and 3 half bathrooms.

The elegant backyard features a crystal-clear pool that leads to a manicured garden perfect for entertaining. The property also includes a clay tennis court with a covered pergola and pristine view of the golf course.

Mike Pappas

Built in 2011, this property is one of only two double lots within the Old Palm Golf Club sitting on over two acres. The other is owned by Australian golf legend Greg Norman.

Marotta has a second pending sale in the community that is under contract for $20 million with no contingency. Closing is set for the beginning of 2023 once ongoing renovations are complete.

The latest sale brings Marotta to $150 million in total volume for 2022 with a projected total of almost $300 million by the end of the year.

Greg Norman

“Old Palm is one of the finest golf course communities in Palm Beach Gardens and I am so proud to be able to complete a historic sale in this community,” Marotta said. “We have been fortunate to have a strong market in the Palm Beaches, and securing a sale such as this bodes well for local luxury market’s outlook going forward.”

Jeremy Browne of the Hughes Browne Group of Compass represented the buyer in the transaction. Browne, Co-Founding Principal of the group, has been a Realtor for almost two decades and a resident of the community for nearly 40 years.

“We are extremely proud of the success Vince has had in the Palm Beach luxury market,” said Mike Pappas, CEO of The Keyes Company. “With a track record of record-setting sales in the area, we are excited to see what milestone he will establish next.”

Wendy Cullen

Marotta, a former college football and track athlete at Yale University who participated in several of the iconic Yale/Harvard rivalry games, applies the passion, tenacity and dedication cultivated on the gridiron to his longtime position as one of the most prolific luxury real estate agents in the Palm Beaches.

A Jupiter resident, Marotta has enjoyed success in communities throughout the northern Palm Beach market like The Bear’s Club, Admirals Cove, Old Palm Golf Club, Jupiter Island, Trump National, Harbour Isles, Frenchman’s Creek and many others.

Additionally, Marotta is the only Realtor in a given year who has sold multi-million-dollar condos in Jupiter Island, Juno Beach, North Palm Beach and Singer Island.

These statistics, along with the highest degree of integrity and loyalty has earned Illustrated’s Vince Marotta and his assistant Wendy Cullen a stellar reputation among a high-expectation clientele.

JLL partners with Georgia Department of Transportation to develop EV Charging Infrastructure plan

 Josephine Tucker

ATLANTA, GA – JLL announced its agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to deliver a strategic plan for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The plan is an essential step in securing funds through the $5 billion National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) grant program, part of the $7.5 billion grant program package established by the 2021 bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

Taken together, the grant programs will help states deploy convenient, reliable, affordable and equitable public charging infrastructure nationwide.

JLL has teamed with Ernst & Young and HNTB and will assist the state of Georgia in developing a strategic plan to meet NEVI guidelines, illustrating adequate EV charging coverage along previously established Alternative Fueling Corridors and providing a strategy for creating, upgrading and expanding installations over time.

“The NEVI grant program offers a rare opportunity for states to claim significant federal dollars, but the nature of EV infrastructure is highly complex,” said Josephine Tucker, Managing Director, Clean Energy and Infrastructure Advisory, JLL.

“As an advisor to the state of Georgia, JLL will deliver expertise in engaging public and private stakeholders, analyzing future demand and gauging the impact of EV charging on future business models and implementations.

"Our shared goal is to create a cleaner, greener economic future for Georgia and beyond.”

Jannine Miller

Implementing the NEVI program is a critical initiative for Georgia’s continued economic development.

"The state is positioned as a leader in business-friendly sustainability, building on its long-term focus on logistics, workforce and responsive government to drive innovation and development in the electric mobility ecosystem.

“Strengthening our electric charging network will require collaboration among government, industry, utilities and other stakeholders at every stage of the process,” said Jannine Miller, Director of Planning at the Georgia Department of Transportation.

“We are excited to work with JLL to put forth our initial deployment plan and to stay abreast of emerging opportunities through the IJIA program.”
