Ware Malcomb Promotes Douglas Gullo and Henry Chan in Phoenix Office; Welcomes Minh Nghiem

 PHOENIX, AZ Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, announced that

Douglas Gullo has been promoted to Principal; Henry Chan has been promoted to Studio Manager, Architecture; and Minh Nghiem, PE, has joined as Civil Engineering Manager in the firm’s Phoenix office.


In his new role as Principal, Douglas Gullo leads the growth and management of the Phoenix office..

Gullo earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Arizona. 

With his promotion to Studio Manager, Architecture, Henry Chan will play a pivotal role in overseeing Ware Malcomb’s industrial, manufacturing, and commercial project teams while mentoring and contributing to the growth and development of team members in the Phoenix office. Chan brings more than 30 years of architectural design expertise to his role, having worked on various project types including commercial, educational and multifamily.

“Henry has been instrumental in establishing and broadening Ware Malcomb's Phoenix portfolio,” said Gullo. “His steady approach and keen execution have been key in building long-term relationships with some of our most important local clients, and we congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion.”

Chan graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.

 Minh Nghiem brings more than 10 years of experience in civil engineering design, project management, and client management to his new role. A licensed engineer in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Kentucky, his extensive civil engineering and land development capabilities cover all aspects of commercial, self-storage, office, retail, and residential.

“Minh adds valuable, in-depth experience in land development and construction administration to our team, particularly given his track record developing, designing, and building self-storage facilities in the Phoenix Metropolitan area,” said Matt Kuehn, Director, Civil Engineering. “We are excited to welcome him and look forward to his contributions to the growth of the office and our civil engineering practice.”

Nghiem completed his undergraduate and graduate education in Nashville, TN, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Lipscomb University and Master of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University.
