Thornton Tomasetti to Relocate to Parkside Realty’s 600 West Fulton in Chicago’s Fulton Market District

Molly Carroll

CHICAGO, IL — Global scientific and engineering consulting firm Thornton Tomasetti has signed a new lease for 18,943 square feet on the seventh floor at 600 West Fulton, a nine-story, 214,000-square-foot loft office building in Chicago’s Fulton Market District that is owned by Parkside Realty, Inc.

Located at the corner of Fulton and Jefferson streets, near the gateway to the burgeoning mixed-use district that has attracted office users across industries, 600 West Fulton will house Thornton Tomasetti’s Chicago-based operations, which are being relocated from 330 N. Wabash in River North.

Barbara (Barb) Schenberg

Molly Carroll and Andy Strand of JLL represented Thornton Tomasetti in the lease, while Barb Schenberg of Parkside Realty represented ownership.

“Thornton Tomasetti’s roots in Chicago go back more than 50 years, and our work can be seen across the city’s skyline and at many of its landmarks,” said Thornton Tomasetti Associate Principal and Chicago Office Co-Leader Rachel Michelin.

Rachel Michelin

“We are committed to Chicago and look forward to our continued growth here. With our staff fully back in the office, we require modern space that fosters collaboration and creativity, not only between our employees but our clients as well, and attracts top talent. 600 West Fulton checked all the boxes.

"We look forward to this next chapter and to making a positive contribution to our new neighborhood.”

 Andy Strand

“Fulton Market is a place where global firms like Thornton Tomasetti can thrive, and 600 West Fulton stands out to today’s office tenants that are gravitating toward modern, functional environments that people enjoy spending time in and that offer a dynamic mix of private workspaces and communal areas,” said Schenberg, executive vice president of leasing for Parkside Realty.

“This is the latest in a series of recent leases at 600 West Fulton – some with companies that are relocating to Chicago from other cities – that demonstrate why Fulton Market is one of the hottest office submarkets in the country.”

Originally built in 1895 to house Sears & Roebuck’s original warehouse and converted to a loft-style office building in 1982, 600 West Fulton pioneered the loft office movement in Fulton Market as one of the area’s first redeveloped industrial spaces.

Realtors Specializing in Multi-Family Properties Find Assurance in KCMA-Certified Cabinets for Severe Use Applications

Betsy Natz

RESTON, VA. – Originally developed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in 1993, the Severe Use Specifications for cabinets were designed to address realtor concerns about the longevity of cabinets installed in situations where the opportunity for abuse can be high.

Although HUD later dropped the specifications, KCMA had already established a viable Severe Use certification program and, with HUD approval, also assumed ownership of the specifications.

The specifications have since undergone four revisions with updates to the current 2017 version slated for release in 2023.

“Severe use cabinets are made with specific materials and construction techniques that make them very durable,” says KCMA CEO Betsy Natz. “Cabinets that achieve KCMA-certification for severe use have already satisfied the ANSI/KCMA A161.1-2022 Performance & Construction Standard for Kitchen and Vanity Cabinets.

"Severe use certification takes the performance requirements a step further.”

Typically used in multifamily and/or subsidized housing units subject to high occupant turnover, college dorms, and wherever higher level of abuse might be expected, cabinets certified for severe use must comply with a set of very specific requirements

Lincoln Property Co. Arranges Long-Term Retail Leases at High Profile Daytona Beach, FL Entertainment Sites

Kathy Bonini

DAYTONA BEACH, FL  – Lincoln Property Company Southeast, (LPC) which ranks as one of the largest property leasing and management companies in the Southeast, recently closed on multiple new restaurant/bar leases -  one on North Atlantic Avenue with an ocean view and four in the heart of Daytona Beach’s Main Street Entertainment District.

Aaron Dan

Kathy Bonini, Brokerage Services Sr. Associate and Sr. Vice President Aaron Dan – both with the Orlando office of LPC – brokered the lease of the 3,300 square foot freestanding restaurant building on a quarter-acre lot at 37 N. Atlantic Ave. representing the Landlord CTO Realty Growth to procure the tenant, Stroud’s BBQ & Grill d/b/a Hog Heaven BBQ.

The long-standing Hog Heaven BBQ property (above photo) is across the street from Oceanfront Park and the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, where Dan and Bonini also handle beachfront retail leasing.

 Main Streeet's Full Moon Saloon

“Owners Ashley and Jeromy Stroud were searching for a new home for their mouth-watering BBQ since their prior location at 2516 N. Atlantic was heavily damaged by hurricane Ian, and we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome this excellent operator,” Dan said.

 Main Street Bank

Bonini and Dan also secured the lease for the operators of Port Orange’s Doghouse Bar & Grill to take over operations of four properties in the core of Daytona’s Main Street Entertainment District – some of the high-profile retail properties in Landlord CTO Realty Growth’s portfolio.

Theresa Doan

The properties totaling ±40,475 square feet are now 100 percent leased and plans are to seamlessly transition operations upon the retirement from former long-time owner, Theresa Doan.  The new tenant plans to keep  the legendary names (Biker’s Den; Dirty Harry’s; Bank & Blues Club and Full Moon Saloon) while revamping existing operations of these properties.
