ORLANDO, FL – Keene Construction Company, Maitland, is nearing completion on the new multimillion-dollar, 27,000-square-foot Buildings A and F at Shoppes at Woolbright (top left photo) located on the northwest corner of Jog Road and Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach, FL.

Keene recently wrapped up work on the center’s new 46,031-square-foot Publix Super Market plus 75,756 square feet of additional retail space contained in Buildings G, J, K1 and K2.

Developed by Woolbright Development, Boca Raton, FL, the project was designed by Marc Wiener Associates, Boca Raton. Notably, Keene has constructed over 140 Publix stores for the Lakeland, FL-based grocery giant.

Keene Completes 45,000-SF Publix at Walden Woods

MAITLAND, FL – Keene Construction Company, Maitland, one of America’s largest retail contractors, completed the new 45,000-square-foot Publix at Walden Woods at 2204 James L. Redmond Parkway in Plant City, in Hillsborough County, FL.

Developed by RMC Property Group, Tampa, the redevelopment project was designed by Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, Orlando, and involved demolition of an existing Publix, construction of the new Publix store as well as a new canopy for the adjacent retail stores. Notably, Keene has constructed over 140 Publix stores for the Lakeland, FL-based grocery giant.

Keene Construction Completing New Publix in Flagler Beach, FL

ORLANDO, FL – Keene Construction Company, Maitland, is well under way on the new multimillion-dollar, 64,031-square-foot Publix at Beach Village retail center on State Road 100 east of Interstate 95 in Flagler Beach, FL, for North American Properties, Fort Myers, FL.

The center features a 46,031-square-foot Publix Super Market plus 18,000 square feet of additional retail space designed by Fisher & Associates, Clearwater, FL. Completion is slated for May 2009. Notably, Keene has constructed over 140 Publix stores for the Lakeland, FL-based grocery giant.

Keene Finishing Retail Project at Town Center at Boca Raton, FL

BOCA RATON, FL – Keene Construction Company, Orlando, one of America’s largest retail contractors, is wrapping up work on the Town Center at Boca Raton’s (top right photo) expansion and interior renovation to accommodate The Capital Grille restaurant in Boca Raton, FL, for Simon Property Group, Indianapolis.

The improvements were designed by Slattery & Associates, Boca Raton, and are slated for completion in March 2009.

The 1.5 million-square-foot regional mall contains high-fashion retailers including Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as 220 specialty shops.

Keene Building Publix at La Piazza in Ave Maria, FL

ORLANDO, FL – Keene Construction Company, Maitland, one of America’s largest retail contractors, is building La Piazza, (top right photo) a new Publix-anchored shopping center in Ave Maria, FL, near Naples.

The center consists of a 30,907-square-foot Publix Supermarket and 8,485 square feet of additional retail space.

Designed by Looney Ricks Kiss, Architects, Memphis, TN, the project is slated for completion in June 2009. Notably, Keene has constructed over 140 Publix stores for the Lakeland, FL-based grocery giant.

Keene Construction Co. Announces the Appointment of Chad Birchard to Assistant Manager of Preconstruction Services

MAITLAND, FL--Keene Construction, headquartered in Maitland, Florida, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chad Birchard (photo top right) to a Construction Services Representative position. Chad will be working with Ron Smith in the Maitland firm’s corporate offices.

Chad’s position at Keene for the last three years has been in field management, he also has commercial electrical experience working for a large electrical contractor in the Orlando area. Both areas of Chad’s previous field experience should be extremely valuable to the clients he assists in planning new projects.


Chad’s new responsibilities will be to identify needs and primarily assist Keene customers in the preconstruction phase of their projects. He will also focus on maintaining customer service relationships from project inception to completion.

Keene Construction has long been considered a leader in the construction of concrete tilt-wall projects including retail, industrial, office buildings and manufacturing facilities.
