Longmont, CO, Nov. 7, 2024 — Alliant National Title Insurance Company, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, announces the promotion of Mauri Hawkins to Chief Claims Counsel.
Hawkins was initially hired by Alliant National in
October 2020 as Claims Counsel before being promoted to Claims Manager in
December of 2021. She previously worked as Professional Development Director
for the State Bar of Arizona and at several other title underwriters as Claims
Counsel and Senior Claims Counsel. She also served as an adjunct university
professor for over a decade.
A seasoned professional, Hawkins has made major
contributions since coming to Alliant National. She has led the underwriter’s
claims department and worked tirelessly to create a collaborative and seamless
experience for its network of independent agents across the country.
In her new position, Hawkins will continue to
manage Alliant National’s national claims department and cultivate mutually
beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders. In addition,
she will work with senior leadership to strategically align her department’s
goals with Alliant National’s long-term business objectives.
Other responsibilities will include overseeing the department’s policies and procedures and establishing best practices for claims administration. She will also be involved in evaluating technology solutions that affect Alliant National’s claims department. This is an important priority given how rapid digital transformation is impacting the industry’s ability to operate safely and efficiently in both the short- and long-term.

Hawkins holds a Bachelor of Science from Fisher
School of Accounting at University of Florida; a Master of Business
Administration from Goldey-Beacom College; a Juris Doctorate from Levin College
of Law at University of Florida; and a Master of Laws in Corporate Law and
Finance from Widener University School of Law.
She is licensed to practice in Florida,
Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, Arizona, and the Supreme Court of the
United States. She is also active in the larger title community, holding
membership positions with The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate & Trust
section, and the Florida Land Title Association.
