FAMU Foundation’s College of Law Fundraiser at the University Club of Orlando Nov. 20 to Feature Football Icon Emmitt Smith

Pittsburgh International Airport Announces New Epicenter of Additive Manufacturing as First Tenant Signs Agreement

PITTSBURGH, PA, Oct. 28, 2019 — Additive manufacturing now has a place to call home.

 Pittsburgh International Airport on Friday announced plans for Neighborhood 91, the world’s first development to condense and connect all components of the additive manufacturing/3-D printing supply chain into one powerful production neighborhood concept.

 Neighborhood 91, developed in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh, is the first development of the 195-acre Pittsburgh Airport Innovation Campus and will be built adjacent to the airport terminal and runway. Argon gas supplier Arencibia – has committed to be the anchor tenant.

 “The Pittsburgh region has always been a world leader in manufacturing,” said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.

“Now that industry has evolved into additive manufacturing and 3-D printing, and through Neighborhood 91, we have laid the groundwork to become the global epicenter.

"The neighborhood concept will create enormous efficiencies but just as important is leveraging our region’s universities, which will provide necessary research and development and fuel the workforce to the fill these jobs.”

 The name Neighborhood 91 is based on Pittsburgh’s 90 distinct neighborhoods with the 91st being a key component to additive manufacturing into the future. Construction will begin next year.

“Additive manufacturing is looking for a place to call home and no one has made that happen – until now. The Pittsburgh region is natural fit based on its history and its assets of today. And our airport is leading the way to get it done along with our university partners.”

 The University of Pittsburgh is a key partner in the development of Neighborhood 91 – both for its research and development and workforce development.

The university’s dual strengths of applied additive manufacturing and supply chain research in addition to piloting programs to augment the professional pipeline help fuel the neighborhood concept.

 “Neighborhood 91 brings together the kind of collaborative environment needed to lead in today’s competitive advanced manufacturing economy,” said University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Patrick Gallagher.

“It combines the region’s strength in additive manufacturing and advanced materials industries with the intellectual capital of its world-class research universities.”

 Neighborhood 91’s first tenant – Arencibia – has already signed up. Arencibia is the industry leader in recycling gases throughout the aerospace and additive manufacturing supply chain, creating more efficiencies and saving money for companies.

 “The Neighborhood 91 model is innovation at its core: marrying technological, commercial, and public-private collaboration to fundamentally change the industry,” said Joe Arencibia, President. “This is something that isn’t happening elsewhere and we are excited to be the foundation upon which the Neighborhood is built.”

 The Neighborhood 91 concept is based on shared capital resources at the core of the development. It will house a complete end-to-end ecosystem offering:

·       ·       Powder, parts, post-production, testing and analysis
·       ·       Communal powder storage facilities
·       ·       Efficiencies in production/post-production and delivery
·       ·       Tenants’ clients cost savings from on-demand printing
·       ·       Reduced transportation costs
·       ·       Airport access
·       ·       And perhaps the most important, argon, helium and other noble gases, which are essential elements of additive manufacturing, reaching up to 60 percent of additive manufacturing costs.

 As part of Neighborhood 91, the airport is planning to construct a second microgrid to power the development to further increase cost savings for tenants. The airport is in the process of developing its first microgrid to power the terminals and airfield.

 The Neighborhood campus concept will contain all the elements of the additive manufacturing supply chain in one concentrated place, including an onsite communal supply of powder, a proposition too expensive for most in the industry on their own.

 Officials estimated that manufacturing lead times will shrink by 80 percent and transportation costs will shrink by even more.

ATLANTA, GA, Oct. 29, 2019 — Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG), an Atlanta-based, private hotel investment, ownership and management company, today announced a number of new leadership appointments, including naming Stephanie Bauer as regional vice-president of operations and Marcus Marshall to the newly created role of vice-president of restaurants and bars, and promoting Ken Morgan to regional director of operations.

Prior to joining HVMG, Bauer was executive vice-president of asset management at Avana Capital.  In that role, she partnered with numerous hotel operators to drive operational performance, as well as actively managing new development and renovation projects.  

She also held numerous general manager and multi-unit roles with Westmont Hospitality Group, culminating in regional operations director overseeing a portfolio of a dozen hotels.

            In his newly created role as vice-president of restaurants and bars, Marshall will oversee the development and operations of HVMG’s specialty restaurant concepts and catering operations.  

Most recently, he was regional director of operations for Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants.  While there, he was responsible for operational leadership, new concept development and attracting and developing talent across a portfolio that included award-winning independent restaurants, as well as hotel restaurants and bar concepts.  

Marshall served in the United States Marines and is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.

 Morgan studied security administration/criminology at Park College and is an active board member with the Metro Tulsa Hotel & Lodging Association and Tulsa Tourism Board.

SkyBridge Breaks Ground on First Two Buildings at Gateway Airport in Mesa, AZ

PHOENIX, AZ, Oct. 28, 2019 – SkyBridge Arizona and leading general contractor Graycor Construction Company joined today with local dignitaries, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, business leaders and project leasing firm CBRE to break ground on the first two buildings at SkyBridge Arizona.

 The major masterplanned development will serve as the nation’s first-ever joint U.S. and Mexico inland port and customs processing hub. SkyBridge has selected Graycor for the design-build of the first two buildings.

Located on 360 acres southwest of the runway at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona, SkyBridge will use Unified Cargo Processing (UCP) to complete on-site cargo inspection and processing so that shipments between the U.S. and Mexico can be expedited directly to their destinations in Mexico.

“We have every confidence in Graycor to deliver the first buildings at SkyBridge on time, with great quality and with an execution that underscores their experience building within highly active live environments like Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.”

“SkyBridge Arizona is a gamechanger for e-commerce between U.S. and Mexico, our largest trade partner,” said City of Mesa Mayor John Giles. 

“Congratulations to Graycor Construction for being selected to build the first two facilities at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. These buildings kick off new development at the country’s first joint customs inland port right here in Mesa.”

Graycor will begin construction at SkyBridge with a fully speculative flex industrial building and a new hangar facility.

The flex industrial building will total 60,000 square feet suitable for light industrial and warehouse use by one or two occupants. It will feature 24-foot clear height, up to four docks and storefront entries with administrative offices, conference space and break areas.

The aviation hangar will total 82,500 square feet with four bays each totaling approximately 18,000 square feet with approximately 2,500 square feet of administrative and conference space. 

 All bays will have full foam fire suppression systems and the ability to accommodate aircraft as large as a G650 business jet.

“Phoenix has long been known as a logistics hub but SkyBridge will take the Valley to a new level of supply chain opportunity,” said Todd Ostransky, Graycor Construction Company Vice President of the Southwest Division.

 “We are honored to work alongside SkyBridge and all of the municipalities involved in the evolution of this airport area.”

Architectural firm ADM Group and engineering firm HilgartWilson will serve as Graycor’s design-build partners for SkyBridge. Jackie Orcutt and Pete Wentis of CBRE have been selected as the project’s exclusive leasing brokers.

At build out, SkyBridge is slated to include 2 million square feet of warehouse space, 200,000 square feet of office space, 1.7 million square feet of light industrial, flex and cargo operations and 100,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
