Marc Rutzen
CHICAGO, IL – KIG, Chicago’s leading commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in institutional multifamily properties throughout the Midwest, has announced Marc Rutzen, 27, has joined the firm as its Data Analytics Officer.

Most recently, Rutzen was an associate project manager for Chicago-based SB Friedman Development Advisors.

Prior to that, he managed the Chicago Housing Authority’s Scattered Sites Program as a member of its Capital Construction team.

“Bringing Rutzen to KIG furthers our goal of being predictive rather than reactive,” said Susan Tjarksen, principal and managing broker at KIG.
“He is building cutting-edge applications for us.

“From the development of our mobile website and proprietary customer relationship management system to the use of regression analysis and machine learning to predict rental market trends, Rutzen is helping set KIG apart as an innovative real estate partner.”

In his most recent position at SB Friedman, Rutzen developed market analyses across asset classes and conducted TIF feasibility studies for multiple developments throughout the Midwest.

As part of the Gilbane Team with the Chicago Housing Authority’s Capital Construction Department, Rutzen directed planning and construction activities for more than 60 active rehab projects in the CHA’s 2,100+ unit scattered sites portfolio and managed the construction of life safety improvements in eight public housing developments.

“My position at KIG offers me the opportunity to apply the wide array of analytical and technological skills I’ve developed as a real estate developer and technologist,” Rutzen said.
