CHICAGO, IL (June 9, 2016)
– FitzGerald Associates Architects, a leading national residential and
commercial design firm, announced that award-winning industry veteran Michael Breclaw, AIA, LEED AP, has
joined the firm as associate principal.
Breclaw has more than 25
years of experience as a design professional and has led design on a wide
variety of projects, including large-scale retail and mixed-use developments,
multifamily and student housing, and corporate and governmental/institutional
complexes.
Among his significant
projects are the mixed-use developments of Uptown Park Ridge in Park Ridge,
Ill., and NEWCITY in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, both of which have
won Urban Land Institute Chicago’s Vision Award. Breclaw also led the design of
Motorola’s former campuses in Libertyville and Harvard, Ill.
“The value Mike adds to
our team cannot be overstated,” said Pat
FitzGerald, chairman and managing principal of FitzGerald Associates
Architects. “His considerable design experience in mixed-use and
transit-oriented development is a natural fit with our firm’s core services.
Further, his deep
knowledge of retail, student housing and institutional design will allow us to
expand service to our clients as they grow their businesses and explore new
design options for their developments.”
Prior to joining FitzGerald
on June 1, Breclaw worked at Chicago-based OKW Architects as principal and
director of design for more than 14 years.
