OAK CREEK, WI. May 18, 2021 — Wingspan Development Group and Batson-Cook Development Company (BCDC) have broken ground on Hub13, a 34-acre garden-style multifamily community at 7581 S. 13th St. in Oak Creek, Wis.

Located just south of Milwaukee off Interstate 94, Oak Creek is one of the fastest-growing cities in Milwaukee County and proximate to one of the most dynamic employment corridors in the Midwest.

The joint-venture partnership is delivering 300 apartment units across nine two- and three-story residential buildings. Hub13 will feature resort-style amenities and border an 11.2-acre nature preserve with wetlands.

“BCDC is delighted to embark on Hub13 with our new partner, Wingspan Development Group, a high-quality residential and commercial developer with a leadership team possessing a long track record of success,” said Litt Glover, president and chief executive officer, BCDC.

“Given its central location between Kenosha and Racine counties as well as downtown Milwaukee, Hub13 is one of the most coveted multifamily sites in the southeast Wisconsin market,” said Jason Macklin, director of development, Wingspan Development Group.

This submarket has experienced extroardinary job growth over the past few years, which has created a positive ripple effect across the area.

"Not only will our residents have an easy work commute, but they’ll be walking distance to all of the dining and entertainment options in downtown Oak Creek.

BCDC immediately understood the project fundamentals, and we are proud to partner with such a tenured and respected firm on an exciting project like Hub13.”

The community is located north of the Drexel Avenue interchange of Interstate 94 along South 13th Street, just 9 miles south of downtown Milwaukee and 1 mile from downtown Oak Creek, which is home to numerous shops and restaurants, including three grocery stores.

A commercial development known as Highgate is currently under construction immediately south of Hub13, which will create a sense of an urban mixed-use walkable development between the two projects.

First Merchants Bank is providing financing for Hub13, while JLA Architects is the architect, Ayres Associates is the civil engineer, and Nicholas & Associates is serving as the general contractor.

Hub13 is scheduled to deliver its first units by the end of 2021.
