Ware Malcomb Northeast Leaders Secure Industry Association Presidency Roles

NEWARK, NJ – Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, announced two leaders based in the firm’s Newark office have been sworn into presidency roles of local industry associations.

 Erica Godun, Director, Sustainability, is President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Women Network (CREW NJ) for the 2024 calendar year, and Sean Van, Regional Operations Manager, is the President of the AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey.

 Godun has been an active volunteer and board member at CREW NJ for eight years. Ware Malcomb professionals have been actively involved with CREW Network for more than 20 years and, in that time, several firm leaders have served on CREW chapter committees and boards.

 The firm regularly sponsors the association at the national level as well as more than a dozen regional CREW chapters and events.  

 Godun joined Ware Malcomb in 2015, and recently was named Director, Sustainability, to develop and lead the firm’s sustainability-focused service offerings.

 She is a registered architect in the states of New York and New Jersey, a LEED and WELL Accredited Professional and a Fitwel Ambassador.

 

Godun received bachelor’s degrees in architecture and fine arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. 

Van recently started as the President of the AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey, an AIA component covering Northern New Jersey. He has served on the board of trustees for the past four years with over 600 members. communications, legislation and serving as a liaison between the state and national efforts.

 Additionally, Van will be focused on recruiting, member engagement and implementing new initiatives for the year. 

 Van joined Ware Malcomb in 2021 as a Senior Project Manager and was promoted to Regional Operations Manager. Van holds a Masters of Business Administration from Rutgers Business School and a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute.

 He is a registered architect in the State of New Jersey as well as a WELL Accredited Professional.

Hold-Thyssen Closes Investment Sale of Commercial Development Land on Edge of an Opportunity Zone

ORLANDO, fl --- Hold Thyssen, Inc., a full-service commercial property firm based in Winter Park, recently completed the sale of a rectangular parcel of vacant land located at the southwestern edge of the Pine Hills Opportunity Zone in West Orlando. 

 

Orlando-based investor W-J OZB Operation, LLC paid $450,000 for the 1.33-acres (Lot 2 of the Granikus Subdivision) situated on the highly visible north side of Silver Star Road at its intersection with Lake Stanley Road and immediately east of the Circle K at 8299 Silver Star Rd. in Orlando. 

 

Hold-Thyssen Senior Director Martin Forster CCIM, who negotiated the transaction representing the seller Manor Park, LLC, said the buyer had set up and funded an Opportunity Fund after the federal program to revitalize distressed communities was created.  “That made this property an ideal asset to develop and hold in order to benefit from the favorable long term capital gains treatment that Opportunity Fund properties receive,” he said

Miami-Based Developer Kicks off Latest BTR Community With Site Construction on LEO at Cypress Creek in Pasco County, FL

 SAN ANTONIO, FL  –  Site development got underway this month on LEO at Cypress Creek the latest build-to-rent (BTR) community by Miami-based Advenir Capital, LLC.  

The general contractor - Dallas-based BBL Building Co. - will start vertical construction in June on the $93.5 Million development located in the Pasco County city of San Antonio, a quiet suburb of the Tampa-St. Petersburg metro area.

Designed across 40 acres by Nequette Architecture & Design of Birmingham, 315 BTR units, a clubhouse and pool will take up 36 acres and four acres are designated for commercial use. 

A mix of traditional standalone cottages, duplexes, and townhomes will be offered ranging from a one-bedroom with 728 square feet to the three-bedrooms with 1,510 square feet of living area.

ViaWest Group acquires six-building industrial portfolio in East Valley Phoenix, AZ

PHOENIX, AZ – ViaWest Group has completed the acquisition of a substantial industrial portfolio totaling 428,427 square feet in Gilbert, Arizona.

The acquisition solidifies ViaWest Group's commitment to strategic real estate investments in the East Valley Phoenix area. The price was not disclosed.

 BOSTON, Feb. 5, 2024 –  JLL Capital Markets announced today that it arranged the $86 million sale of a collection of four mission-critical medical properties totalling over 181,000 square feet located in Phoenix, Arizona, Southern Florida and Chicago, Illinois area.

JLL worked on behalf of the seller, Flagler Healthcare Investments, and procured the buyer, Remedy Medical Properties and its partner Kayne Anderson Real Estate.

 The medical properties cater to a diverse range of healthcare specialties, including orthopedic surgery, cardiology, pediatrics and imaging. These facilities are operated by leading health systems and providers, ensuring the delivery of high-margin healthcare services.
