Marshall Hotels & Resorts Names Dana McGrath Mayberry General Manager of Appomattox Inn and Suites in Appomattox, VA

SALISBURY, MD —Marshall Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel management and services company that operates properties nationwide, announced Dana McGrath Mayberry has been named general manager of the 56-room Appomattox Inn and Suites: Professionally Managed by Marshall Hotels, a boutique hotel to be located in historic Appomattox, Va. Currently under construction, the hotel is expected to open during Spring 2016.

“Dana not only brings with her nearly two decades of hotel management experience to the Appomattox Inn & Suites, but she also has hometown roots, having lived in this historic area since she was one-year-old,” said Mike Marshall, president and CEO. 

“Her hospitality expertise combined with her first-hand knowledge of the area make her the ideal candidate to lead this soon-to-open hotel to the top of the marketplace.

“Marshall Management has more than 34 years of experience working in this part of Virginia, and we know the demand drivers and market segments well,” he noted.  “We have a long, proven track record with independent hotels and the proprietary systems to help them maximize returns. 

“Dana is well into the pre-opening activities to help that the hotel opens with minimum ramp-up time.  The property will be the crown jewel in this market, and we look forward to playing a role in its future success.”

             Previously, Mayberry owned and operated the Longacre Bed and Breakfast, also located in Appomattox, where she worked closely with the local community on numerous weddings, events and overnight accommodations.

 Prior to that, she worked with such leading hotel brands as Radisson Hotels and InterContinental Hotel Group.  She is a graduate of Appomattox County High School and Bauder College in Atlanta, Ga., with an Associate’s Degree in Merchandising.

Berger Commercial Realty Brokers Secure Lease Totaling More Than 20,000 SF of Office Space at the Woolbright Corporate Center in Boynton Beach, FL:

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Berger Commercial Realty Vice President Joseph Byrnes and Sales Associate Robert Dabrowski represented Congress Properties & Investments, LLC in a lease renewal and expansion for a combined 20,145 square-feet of office space to VendorNet, Inc.

Berger Commercial Realty represented the landlord in the purchase of the Woolbright Corporate Center as part of a portfolio acquisition last year. Since then, Byrnes and Dabrowski have grown its occupancy by 25 percent.

"The property is in close proximity to I-95 and public transit, which was very important for the tenant," Byrnes said. "VendorNet has experienced a great deal of growth, and we were happy to facilitate its renewal and expansion on behalf of the landlord.

CBRE's Philip D. Voorhees and NRIG-West Team Complete $31.8 Million, 97%-Leased McCalla Centre Sale in Santa Ana, CA

SANTA ANA, CA – CBRE Executive Vice President Philip D. Voorhees announced today that he and the National Retail Investment Group – West (NRIG-West) team completed the sale of McCalla Centre, a 110,620-square-foot neighborhood shopping center in the city of Santa Ana, Calif., anchored by a high-performing Northgate Market and CVS/pharmacy, along with a synergistic mix of retail and shop tenants.

 The sale price was $31,800,000, representing a 3.76% cap rate on high occupancy.

CBRE’s retail investment experts Voorhees, James Slusher, Megan Wood, Brad Rable, Matt Burson and John Read represented the seller, an Orange County-based private investor partnership and the center’s original developer.

The buyer, also represented by Voorhees and the NRIG-West team, was a San Diego-based private real estate investment fund manager.

Built in 1986, McCalla Centre is located on 8.72 acres at 230 N. Harbor Boulevard in Santa Ana, near W. 1st Street. The shopping center was 97% occupied at the time.
