Kathryn Poulin Named General Manager Of Hampton Inn and Suites Jekyll Island, GA

JEKYLL ISLAND, GA/SHELTON, CT -- May 24, 2016—Gerry Chase, president and COO of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced that Kathryn Poulin, will lead the Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island as the hotel’s new general manager. 

Poulin most recently was the general manager of the Hampton Inn in Danville Kentucky.

Poulin boasts a long Hilton pedigree at both the corporate and property level having worked as a quality assurance auditor, 5-Advice manager and regional revenue manager.   She also was the assistant general manager of a Hampton Inn in Frederick, MD and an Embassy Suites in Washington, DC.

“This Hampton Inn has been a market leader since its opening and maintaining that leadership position as Jekyll Island continues to emerge as a revitalized tourist destination, will require the hands-on experience and brand knowledge that Kathy brings to the table,” said Chase.  “I am very confident of this hotel’s future with a GM of Kathy’s caliber at the helm.”

Wyndham Hotel Group’s Ramada Brand Forges Eastward in Canada

PARSIPPANY (May 24, 2016) – Wyndham Hotel Group today announced an agreement with Canalta Hotels to develop 20 Ramada hotels over the next 15 years, growing the brand’s Canadian footprint by approximately 25 percent.

The agreement expands Wyndham Hotel Group’s existing successful relationship with Canalta, which has already resulted in 39 hotels throughout Western Canada in the last 12 years. 

The 20 new anticipated hotels will be located throughout Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.

“We have been working with the team at Canalta for more than a decade and together we’ve made Ramada a familiar place to stay for travelers in Western Canada,” said Chip Ohlsson, Wyndham Hotel Group’s chief development officer.

Stepp Commercial Completes $3.08 Million Sale of 19-Unit Apartment Property in Inglewood, CA

LOS ANGELES, CA, May 24, 2016 – Stepp Commercial, a leading multifamily brokerage firm in the Los Angeles market, has completed the $3.08 million sale of a 19-unit apartment property in Inglewood in an off-market transaction.

Robert Stepp and Mark Witsken of Stepp Commercial represented the buyer, a private investor from Inglewood. The seller, Lunar Bear Victor, LLC, was represented by Matt Pernice of NW Real Estate Brokers. The transaction closed at a 4.08 percent cap rate.

Built in 1960 and located at 816 Victor Avenue, the property includes nine one-bedroom units, seven two-bedroom units, one three-bedroom unit and two studio units.

“The buyer owns several other assets in the City of Inglewood and plans to completely renovate the property, bring rents to market value, and hold long term,” said Stepp.

“The owner of this property will benefit from the billions of dollars of capital that is expected to be invested into the Inglewood area over the next several years. As the LA Rams Stadium and surrounding infrastructure are built up, the residential market is anticipated to thrive as well.”
