Sunbeam Polar Express Collects Thousands of Toys for Miramar, FL Children

MIRAMAR, FL – This year, Sunbeam Properties & Development put a new spin on its annual toy drive. With the theme of ‘Saving Christmas,’ the Sunbeam Polar Express assembled Santa, Mrs. Claus and a team of superheroes to collect toy donations from tenants in the Miramar Park of Commerce, the largest locally owned and managed business park in South Florida.

Donated by 82 tenants in the Miramar Park of Commerce, the toys will be gifted to underserved children by the Miramar Police Department’s Operation Blue Squad

With a full police escort of multiple squad cards and a fully armored truck, the Sunbeam Polar Express, a procession of vehicles decked in holiday décor, rolled into the Miramar Police Station with thousands of toys donated by 82 tenants in the Park. Uniformed officers were on stand-by to help Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Batman and others unload the boxes, which took up every inch of available space.

The toys will be delivered by Operation Blue Squad to brighten the holidays of underserved children throughout the city. A special delivery will be made to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital on Christmas Eve, bringing cheer to young patients spending the holidays at the pediatric hospital.

“The support for this year’s Sunbeam Polar Express was unparalleled. We had more tenants and more gifts than ever before,” said Sunbeam Properties Vice President Maridee Bell, who was dressed as Mrs. Claus.

“It’s truly overwhelming to see such generosity, particularly during the holiday season. Knowing the impact these gifts will have on the underserved children in our community is so incredibly rewarding. We are honored and humbled to organize the Sunbeam Polar Express again this year.”

2018 marks the third consecutive year that Sunbeam Properties & Development has conducted the Sunbeam Polar Express. Sunbeam Properties plans to continue the charitable initiative well into the future.

On the heels of the Sunbeam Polar Express, the company further celebrated the season of giving by making its 10th annual contribution to the Miramar Police Athletic League’s Hangin’ with 5-0, a free, six-week summer camp and life-changing program for at-risk youth in Miramar.

The program was almost eliminated by budget cuts in 2008, but was kept alive thanks to Sunbeam Properties’ continued support, which enables more than 80 students ages nine to 14 to participate in the summer camp each year at no cost and helps bridge the gap between police officers and local youth.

In addition to the Sunbeam Polar Express and Hangin’ with 5-0, Sunbeam Properties & Development supports the City of Miramar through other nonprofit organizations, having donated resources for the Ansin Sports Complex and the Ansin Family Gallery in the Miramar Cultural Center.

The Miramar Park of Commerce has also been the site for supply drives for America’s Moms for Soldiers, toy drives for Miramar children in need, and a food drive for the United Way of Broward County.

Kim O'Donnell

CHICAGO, IL – Proper Title, LLC, the Palatine, Ill.-based title insurance agency serving the residential and commercial real estate industries, announced it has promoted two industry veterans to vice president of business development – Kim O’Donnell, from director of commercial business development; and David Zawadzki, from senior account executive.

In addition, the firm has promoted Sabrina Bier from broker development manager to training and development manager.

The new vice presidents will jointly run the firm’s sales department, with O’Donnell responsible for Chicago and its western suburbs and Zawadzki overseeing the city’s north and northwest suburbs.

“Kim and Dave are an incredible team and continue to make significant contributions to Proper Title that help grow our business,” said David Garside, executive vice president of title and escrow operations at Proper Title.

Sabrina Bier

“Dave has been with us since we opened our doors five years ago, and Kim joined shortly thereafter. Combined, they have more than 40 years of experience in the title industry and will have an even greater impact at Proper Title as vice presidents.”

Since joining Proper Title in 2015, O’Donnell has been responsible for residential and commercial new business development throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.

Under her leadership, Proper Title’s commercial division has grown 40 percent and can now service construction escrow up to $100 million.

Prior to joining Proper Title, O’Donnell gained 19 years of title experience in Chicago and had been recognized with a “top 2 percent in the country” award for new business development and client retention. She is a graduate of DePaul University.

David Zawadski
With more than 16 years of experience in the title industry, Zawadzki has become Proper Title’s top-producing sales representative.

He has developed an extensive client base of real estate developers, investors, attorneys, lenders and brokers.

Prior to joining Proper Title in 2013, Zawadzki held positions as an account executive at a title company, a commercial real estate broker and an escrow officer.

Zawadzki has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Iowa State University’s Ivy College of Business.

David Garside

In her new role as training and development manager, Sabrina Bier brings 13 years of real estate brokerage experience. She will be focused on broker training coordination, social media marketing and client relationship management.

“As an awarding-winning real estate broker, Sabrina is the perfect person to create a bridge between Chicago-area brokers and Proper Title attorneys,” said Garside. “In fact, she has already organized extremely successful networking and training events for brokers and attorneys that quickly sold out.”

Bier joined Proper Title in 2016 as broker development manager. From 2009 to 2015, Bier was honored annually by the Chicago Association of Realtors as a top producing real estate broker.

In 2016, she was featured on HGTV’s House Hunters. Bier has also directed sales and fundraising efforts for the University of Chicago GI Research Foundation and continues to manage Proper Title’s philanthropic arm, Proper Giving. She has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Florida Atlantic University.
