SAVANNAH, GA – West Broad, a
landmark redevelopment complex located in the 300 block of Martin Luther King,
Jr. Blvd. on Savannah’s vibrant westside, recently welcomed a slate of new
commercial tenants, including Savannah Square Pops, Origin Coffee Bar, Chewning
Interiors, AMPT-Savannah, Smithereens and National Marine Sanctuary Foundation.
These recent lessees
join long-term tenants such as Forsight Eye Care, Rethink Design and Sweet
Peach Cosmetic Tattoo.
“We’re thrilled to announce that the entire first floor at West Broad is fully
leased,” said West Broad owner and CFO Jessica Horton.

“We still have light retail, office and
coworking spaces available on the second and third floors for companies and
nonprofit organizations interested in joining a dynamic new epicenter of
redevelopment along Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, formerly known as West
Broad Street, in the heart of downtown Savannah.

Originally built between 1910 and 1922, the buildings in the 300 block of
Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. underwent an extensive exterior and interior
renovation led by award-winning urban design and civic architecture firm
Sottile and Sottile, who carefully restored the historic structures while
thoughtfully paying homage to Savannah’s past.
West Broad earned a
2020 Preservation Award from Historic Savannah Foundation as well as a 2021
Award for Excellence in Rehabilitation from the Georgia Trust for Historic
Preservation.

“West Broad is an outstanding example of how historic commercial properties
can enjoy new life in Savannah,” said Judge Realty Sales Associate Mandy
Zanski.
“It has been extremely exciting to see such a diverse group of
businesses relocate to this highly desirable commercial location.”
Bounded by W. Charlton St. and W. Jones St., the revitalized complex offers
nearly 60,000 square feet of total space, including commercial units with new
electrical, plumbing and mechanical system; a rooftop common area; and a
rentable courtyard.
West Broad features three floors of commercial space and a
rich history as the former home of Savannah’s iconic Thrifty Supply Center
hardware store for nearly 60 years and a vital part of the city’s
African-American business community.
In the 1960s, the
area fell into decline following the demolition of the landmark Union Station
building and the construction of the I-16 flyover.

Today, this exciting commercial development builds upon the success of
surrounding projects, including The Grey, Savannah Children’s Museum, SCAD
Museum of Art and Ships of the Sea Museum and helping to redefine the
commercial corridor along Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
“Our goal with West Broad has always been to redevelop one of Savannah’s
historic commercial spaces while nurturing and supporting the local business
