TAVARES, FL – The Cali, the
first model in Phase I of The Henin Group’s Elmwood community,
is open for touring, and several pre-construction homes already have been sold.
The 32-acre Lake County community – which was
developed last fall by Jerome Henin’s Winter Park-based real estate
development firm – has 115 single-family, 50- by 120-foot homesites that will
contain homes by preferred builder D.R. Horton.
“We actually purchased the property in 2020, but
Covid-19 delayed our start,” Henin said, adding that the project now is ahead
of schedule with a projected sell out by year’s end.
The three-, four- and five-bedroom homes in Elmwood range
from 1,672 to 2,601 square feet of living area in four one-
and two-story floor plans.

The
all-concrete block-construction homes include two-car garages, stainless steel
appliances, and ceramic tile flooring. Prices start in the mid-$300,000s.
Horton’s one-story Cali model –
with three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage – has 1,828 square feet of
living space.
The home’s design optimizes living space with a
spacious open concept kitchen overlooking the living and dining areas and
outdoor lanai. The impressive kitchen island, dining area and large
pantry make entertaining a breeze.

All homes in Elmwood come with a smart home
technology package which enables control of the home with a smart device while
near or away.
Located off Davis Walker Drive, Elmwood is
nestled between Lake Eustis and Lake Dora, just off U.S. Highway 441.
The lakefront city of Tavares offers lots of entertainment
in the form of parks, community events, downtown shops, dining, fishing and
water sports.
Henin said he thinks a variety of prospective
homebuyers will be interested in living at Elmwood.
“We believe these D.R. Horton homes will provide
the kind of housing that will appeal to the types of homebuyers now moving into
this beautiful and active area," he says.
