George Oliver and Kootenay Holdings Partner on New North Scottsdale, AZ Office Lofts

Shanni Eckford

PHOENIX, AZ, Aug. 13, 2019 – A brand new loft-style office project is coming to North Scottsdale, courtesy of Phoenix-based commercial real estate investment and operating company George Oliver and Vancouver-based Kootenay Holdings.

Called Lofts at The District, the project will target small- to mid-size tenants with high-end, innovative office space reflective of the creativity found in other George Oliver developments.

Curt Kremer
Located just east of the popular Scottsdale Quarter open-air retail center near Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, Lofts at The District will convert existing – but underutilized – high-end commercial space into five upscale office suites identified as the East Loft and West Loft, and ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 square feet.

The second-floor suites will serve as building bookends, featuring a mix of 12-foot ceilings and 20-foot vaulted peaks with dramatic window lines that offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Upon delivery, all suites at Lofts at The District will also be move-in-ready, complete with high-end finishes and professionally designed modern interiors as reflected in the project’s virtual tour.

 Ryan Timpani
“Many businesses in North Scottsdale cater to the area’s high-net-worth demographic, creating an ongoing need for mid-size, upscale office space,” said Shanni Eckford, President of Kootenay Holdings.

“Lofts at The District fits that demand perfectly and George Oliver is the obvious partner to give the project the polished, innovative touches that tenants in the area are looking for.”

“Our team is excited about the new partnership with Kootenay Holdings and feel this project will align seamlessly with our repositioning strategy,” said George Oliver Founder and Managing Partner Curt Kremer.

“Tenants across the Valley want workspace that reflects a dynamic company culture and image. Lofts at The District fulfills that requirement and allows tenants to locate and grow their companies here in Scottsdale.”

Lofts at The District is surrounded by millions of square feet of popular retail, restaurant and multifamily development, including The Promenade, Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter.

It also sits at the center of a highly educated labor pool, drawing employees from Scottsdale and its neighboring cities.

Nick Bialkowski

Construction at Lofts at the District is scheduled to begin this month and complete before the end of the year.

Ryan Timpani and Nick Bialkowski at Colliers International serve as the project’s exclusive leasing brokers. RSG Builders is the general contractor.

Upon delivery, Lofts at The District will join a growing list of George Oliver projects including The Quad in Scottsdale, CASA in Phoenix’s booming Uptown neighborhood, Junction 23 in the RiNo arts district of Denver and Upcycle, located in the trendy Eastside submarket in Austin.

MANHATTAN, NY -- The poster family for America’s 1%, the Vanderbilts lived lavishly from wealth accumulated from the railroad business during the Gilded Age, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.

Cornelius “Commodore” Vanderbilt

A Dutch family led by Cornelius “Commodore” Vanderbilt, he started the massive fortune by borrowing $100 to begin ferrying passengers from Long Island to Manhattan.

Ralph Lauren

He eventually went into railroads and his success created wealth of historical proportions. Though the third generation began to see a decline in fortune, heiress and successful fashion-designer Gloria Vanderbilt was a pioneer in a new family work ethic which was handed down to her son, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.

Yoko Ono
Much admired, Gloria Vanderbilt recently passed away at the age of 95. The elegant Manhattan mansion still known as the Vanderbilt Mansion, where Gloria Vanderbilt lived as a child before her mother took her to live in Paris, is now for sale priced at $50 million.

John Lennon
Originally built by Robert B. Lynd in 1891 and restyled in 1905 by William Strom, the seven-story townhouse is located at one of Manhattan’s most-sought-after addresses on East 72nd Street.
Leonard Bernstein

Designed in Néo-Grec style, the 18,408-square-foot townhouse

is 27-feet wide with 12 bedrooms, 11 full bathrooms, three powder rooms and approximately 1,500 square feet of outdoor space.

Margaux Hemmingway

Rooms have 12-foot ceilings and there are three gas fireplaces. Enviably located between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue, it is a stone’s throw to Central Park in a neighborhood awash with art galleries and boutique shops.

Joan Fontaine

Currently divided into three luxury condos with multiple options for reconfiguration, the townhouse was again restyled and updated in 2018 by CetraRuddy using marble and many elegant finishes, flooring, lighting and the best appliances.

 Dorothy Parker

The units could be combined as one residence, two rented with one owner occupied or one occupied, one as guest accommodations and one as staff quarters. The three units can be purchased together or purchased separately.

John Steinbeck
East 72nd Street has long attracted celebrities in the arts and fashion-design world. Ralph Lauren moved there in 2010, Yoko Ono still lives in the same apartment she shared with John Lennon; Leonard Bernstein, Margaux Hemmingway, Joan Fontaine, Dorothy Parker and John Steinbeck have all called East 72nd Street home.

Lauren Muss

Though many of the street’s Gilded Age mansions have been torn down to accommodate exclusive apartment blocks, the sandstone Vanderbilt mansion, as it is still referred to today, is a beautifully kept building that blends attractively with its neighbors.
A townhouse steeped in Gilded Age history of industrial wealth and former home to one of America’s well-known families is now for sale, priced at $50 million for the building or priced separately as three individual apartments.

The listing agent is Lauren Muss of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, Madison Avenue office.
