Renaissance Man, Sammy 'The Red Rocker' Hagar, Still Galloping in the Fast Lane at 72

Sammy “The Red Rocker” Hagar

LAKE ARROWHEAD, CA -- Prolific mover-and-doer Sammy “The Red Rocker” Hagar was driven by poverty and hardship in his childhood to the extreme level of success he has achieved over the span of his 50-year career.

Hagar’s French chateau-style getaway at Lake Arrowhead, CA, with stunning lake views, is priced at $3.9 million.

Singer, guitarist, song writer, band leader, owner of restaurants and bars, developer of his own brand of tequila, and not slowing down at the age of 72, Sammy has also acquired an impressive collection of real estate.

He has recently put one of his seven homes on the market.  Located on Lake Arrowhead, California west of Los Angeles, Hagar’s French chateau-style getaway with stunning lake views is priced at $3.9 million.

Hagar couldn’t wait to escape his dismal family life the minute he graduated high school.

From picking raspberries at age four making 70 cents a day to pay for new shoes to today’s net worth of $150 million, he left home with his $40 Sears catalog guitar, which he taught himself to play, and left for Riverside, California.

At 6,557 square feet, it has eight bedrooms, 10 baths
 and parking for six cars.

Mostly a vagabond hard rocker performing as a solo artist and with a long list of bands, in 1985 he hit it big as the lead vocalist for the new-rock-group Van Halen scoring four multi-platinum albums.

Today, Hagar still works with several bands but has turned most of his attention to his businesses opening two bicycle stores, restaurants and bars in Mexico and California and launched his own tequila brand.

He also found time to grow his real estate portfolio with homes in Mill Valley, Corte Madera and Palm Desert, California; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Maui, Hawaii.

Hagar’s Lake Arrowhead house might be the star of his collection, built in 2009 from granite-and-limestone boulders cut and carved onsite to create a one-off French chateau-style home for friends and family to enjoy the lake activities.

At 6,557 square feet, it has eight bedrooms, ten baths and parking for six cars.  Perched on the side of a hill, all floors have exceptional water views and bi-fold French doors open wide to bring the outdoors in.

Living, dining and family rooms are roomy with many 30-foot tall ceilings and rooms with cozy fireplaces.  The massive eat-in kitchen will house a group to chat or help the cook with its two large marble-topped islands and high-end appliances that make cooking for a crowd a snap.

Guest bedrooms can be found on different levels, all ensuite and all containing steam showers.  The spacious master with its wide airliner views across the lake has a steam shower, sauna and fireplace.

Wynn's home, appropriately named “Museo,” is a mansion/museum on the Las Vegas Billionaire’s Row.

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Having developed many of the world’s most successful casinos, Steve Wynn has a net worth of about $3 billion, a priceless art collection and a home appropriately named “Museo,” a mansion/museum on the Las Vegas Billionaire’s Row.

A combination of Vegas fashion, European sophistication and a luxury golf resort, Museo is for sale, priced at $25 million.

The European-style outdoor plaza features an extravagant four-tier fountain, charming Roman gazebo, pool and spa

Wynn has been involved in the gaming industry since the death of his father when he took over the management of his dad’s Maryland bingo parlor.

He soon moved the family to Las Vegas and segued into the world of building and managing casinos. Better than almost anyone else in the business, Wynn developed the Las Vegas casinos Golden Nugget, Mirage, Treasure Island and Bellagio and later expanded to Atlantic City, Boston, Mississippi and China.

The wealth he accumulated allowed him to fulfill his passion for art and expand his extensive collection that includes rare Picassos, a record price for Rembrandt’s Man with His Arms Akimbo, and the purchase of the first Johannes Vermeer painting that has changed hands in 80 years, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.

Bellagio
Museo spans approximately 13,500 square feet on 1.5 acres at the edge of the Las Vegas Country Club in a secured community of similar homes.

Built in the style of Old World European elegance but adapted to the outdoor lifestyle, the home was recently redesigned and updated at a cost of $16 million - in addition to the $13 million he paid for the home in 2018.

With Wynn’s valuable art collection in mind, the home’s security features include a gas suppression system that goes into operation at the first sign of smoke, an art-display hallway with automatic doors that drop out of the ceiling and lock in an emergency, and infrared cameras on the exterior of the home.

A friend of Hollywood stars, Fortune 1000 CEOs and President Trump, Wynn’s home was renovated for grand entertaining with a chef’s kitchen featuring double appliances and a large butler’s pantry that also adds a second kitchen.

Included in the six bedrooms and nine baths is a master suite with his-and-her baths, dressing room and hair salon.

Additionally there are his-and-her executive offices, family room with wine closet, media room and den. All are dressed in elegant finishes such as gilded doors, silk carpeting and mohair-covered walls.

One wing is the caretaker’s apartment but also with a full gym with wet bar, caretaker’s office, laundry room with double Bosch washers and dryers, and climate-controlled garage with skylights and arched entryways.

Museo has its own power plant that can run the home’s power needs for 36 hours.  Just as impressive on the outside, there are views of the La Madre Ridge Mountains, the Las Vegas Country Club golf course, and an impressive oasis of Italian Cypress trees, palms and extensive gardens.
