ORLANDO, FL – Jan. 26, 2010--Cushman & Wakefield of Florida, Inc. (C&W) announced that Public Risk Underwriters renewed their office lease with a long-term commitment in Lake Mary in December.

Senior Director of Office Brokerage Services, Matthew McKeever  (bottom right photo) CCIM, SIOR, represented the tenant in the deal with landlord Colonial Properties Trust which closed on December 7.

Offering property, casualty, workers’ compensation, and risk management programs for government and public sector, Public Risk Underwriters renewed 27,000 square feet in Tower II at Primera.

A 20-year veteran of office brokerage in Central Florida, Matthew McKeever represented Public Risk Underwriters in their original transaction for office space in Primera Tower II back in 2002. "I’ve been brokering office deals for so long that many of my transactions, at this point, are the result of repeat business," says McKeever.

Orlando, FL– Cushman & Wakefield of Orlando announced the sale of 104 acres located in Margate, Florida, owned by Uniprop Manufactured Housing Communities Income Fund, who was represented by Cushman & Wakefield Senior Director of Land Brokerage, Margery Johnson (top right photo).

The land was formerly the site of Aztec Estates, a manufactured housing park which has been rezoned for mixed residential units. Buyer Aztec RV Resort paid $15,750,000, or $112,500 per acre in the transaction which closed on October 20.

Orlando, FL -- Cushman & Wakefield Project Manager Tracy Thom-Palumbo (top right photo) has earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Professional Accreditation (LEED AP) designation.

Administered through the U.S. Green Building Council, LEED Accredited Professionals have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices, and have the knowledge and skill set to successfully steward the LEED certification process for buildings and construction projects.

"Even in the down economy, we're seeing more interest in green practices all the time," says Thom-Palumbo.

"With the LEED AP certification, I will be able to assist clients in the LEED certification process of their projects, in addition to helping them design and build more healthful, durable, affordable and environmentally sound construction for commercial buildings."

Cushman & Wakefield Negotiates Sale of Joint Venture Interest in Celebration Office Center III

ORLANDO, FL – May 21, 2009 – Cushman & Wakefield negotiated the sale of a joint venture
interest in Celebration Office Center III (top right photo) in Orlando, Florida.

This property will serve as the headquarters for Disney Vacation Development, part of the Parks and Resorts segment of the Walt Disney Company. The transaction closed on May 13, 2009.

The sale included interest in the three story, Class A, 100,924 square foot office building located
in Celebration Office Center III adjacent to the Walt Disney World campus.

Mr. Davis was quoted as saying, “Despite difficult market conditions, investors continue to find Central Florida an attractive market to acquire Real Estate.”

ORLANDO, FL ––Cushman & Wakefield Retail Brokerage Associate Director Mindy Boehm (top right photo) announced five commercial leases and a lease renewal in the Orlando MSA.

Coco Moka Café, Inc leased Suite 103 in The Lighthouse Plaza at 6400 International Drive, for an upscale coffeehouse that will feature salads, sandwiches and desserts in addition to Seattle’s Best coffee. Ms Boehm represented the landlord, GBHR Corporation, in the 5-year deal for 1,100 sf formerly occupied by Starbucks.

Ms Boehm represented the tenant, National University, in the 3-year lease for 1,700 sf at Site 125 in SODO, (middle left photo) the new mixed-use development south of downtown anchored by Super Target. National University will open an admissions office at the site.

Morse Enterprises Limited leased 1,200 sf at Suite 207, 1155 Louisiana Avenue in Winter Park, near Park Avenue. Ms Boehm represented the tenant in the 3-year agreement for the corporate offices of plant nutrition company, Keyplex. Emerson International is the landlord.

Three Nenas Bakery and Deli leased 1,400 sf in Ambersweet Plaza for a new restaurant. Ms Boehm represented the landlord, Berry Town Plaza LLC in the 3-year agreement.

Hunt Club Cleaners renewed their lease of 1,500 sf in The Shoppes at Hunt Club, committing to another five years. Ms Boehm represented the landlord in the transaction.

Boehm negotiated a 5-year lease, representing the landlord, Berry Town Center, LLC, in a transaction that brings a new Sherlock’s European Café to Davenport.

Specializing in authentic British tea, organic light fare, desserts baked on premises, and hand-crafted "conversational beers," the restaurant occupies 1,400 sf at 113 Ambersweet Way in the Berry Town Center.

ORLANDO, FL-– As the first real estate services firm in the country to commit to environmental Best Practices under a formal agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protections Agency (EPA) Cushman & Wakefield sent a powerful message that they mean business when it comes to greening commercial real estate practices.

The Orlando branch of C&W is keeping step with this national policy by instituting a number of green initiatives to enhance energy efficiency, improve resource management, and reduce the carbon footprint of their offices.

C&W-Orlando has initiated three local sustainability projects:

1. Sponsoring associates who wish to seek the U.S. Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation;
2. Identify and transition into new sustainable offices;
3. Forming a local "Green Team" responsible for compliance with corporate sustainability goals, as well as initiating creative sustainability practices for the Orlando office.

Already, the LEED sponsorship program has produced results. C&W Industrial Director Lee Morris (top left photo) received LEED AP certification through this program, earning his designation late last month.

"LEED practice is just good business practice," says Morris. "Optimizing efficiencies builds stronger, more profitable businesses, with the end result being less waste and higher sustainability."

Nature's Table Renews 6-Year Lease at One Orlando Centre

ORLANDO, FL--Cushman & Wakefield of Florida, Inc. (C&W) announced a new six year lease for the One Orlando Centre (top right photo) location of Nature’s Table restaurant.

Retail Brokerage Associate Mindy Boehm (bottom left photo) negotiated the lease, representing the tenant in the transaction, and C&W office team Richard Solik and Betsy Owens represented the landlord, Eola Capital.

Nature’s Table representative Krista Lehn said the location is scheduled for complete renovation including a brand-new interior design, all-new fixtures and new furniture.

The overhaul will necessitate the closure of the restaurant beginning the last week of April and continuing through July.

During the renovation, temporary food service will be available on the first level of One Orlando Centre.
