Studio Other Recognized as Team Member on Calibre Award Winning Procore Headquarters Project

Charlotte Wiederholt
LOS ANGELES, CA, June 11, 2019 – Studio Other (formerly Tangram Studio), a creator of custom commercial interior environments and workspaces, was recognized as a key member of the team on the Procore headquarters renovation project that has won the 2019 Calibre Design Award in the Work/Medium category from the International Interior Design Association’s Southern California chapter.

The prestigious awards were presented at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Based in Carpinteria, Calif., Procore is a leading provider of cloud-based applications for construction that connect people, applications and devices through a unified platform to help manage risk and build quality projects safely, on time and within budget.

Studio Other created custom height-adjustable workstations, meeting tables, conference tables and credenzas for the IIDA Southern California Calibre Design Award winner in the Work/Medium category.

“We were very proud to play a role in helping Procore create an environment that supports its culture and its position as a leading technology provider,” said Studio Other President Charlotte Wiederholt.

“It’s also gratifying to be included among such a distinguished community of organizations in Southern California that are dedicated to transforming the ways people work.”

Objectives for the project included supporting and accommodating the firm’s visual brand standards as well as creating a foundation for future growth. A clean, industrial style of furniture was achieved, establishing the visual groundwork for a company expanding in both clientele and staff.

(Other previous project from Tangram)

Architecture firm HLW specified furniture and onboarded Studio Other to assist with design and execution. Close collaboration between HLW, Procore and Studio Other resulted in an innovative set of height-adjustable workstations, meeting tables, conference tables and credenzas.

The desks were designed with a matte-black laminate tabletop and exposed multi-ply edges on powder coated steel legs. Paired with free-standing acoustic divider panels in a classic gray and a clean power management solution, the workstations achieve a fresh industrial feel.

Conference tables feature wood laminate and exposed multi-ply edges with an orange divider stripe reflect the signature Procore color.

Meeting tables include built-in power and C-channel steel legs, adhering to the aesthetic standard established by the workstations. Credenzas were crafted in hot-rolled steel to tie in with the C-channel legs and as a nod to the raw materials used in construction.

The Calibre Design Awards celebrate the excellent work of project teams that have exceeded the expectations of the profession in bringing design to life and honor the meaning of collaboration for projects that exhibit a high level of teamwork and stunning design.
