Foster Conant selected to design landscape for senior housing project in Hillsborough County, FL

ORLANDO, FL— Foster Conant & Associates has been selected to provide site-specific landscape architectural services for a new senior housing project in Hillsborough County, Fla. Dubbed the Fountains at Falkenburg, the 10-acre site is designed for 152-units in four buildings supported by associated infrastructure and senior amenities.

Under contract with the project’s owner, Winter Park, Fla.-based Fountains at Falkenburg LLLP, Foster Conant is designing landscape planting, irrigation, pool layout, water feature, signage, lighting fixtures, aesthetic berming, and hardscape for pedestrian walks, patios, terraces and vehicular paving.

Additionally, Foster Conant is designing senior focused amenities into the project such as a putting green, passive seating areas with freestanding shade structures, a raised community garden that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act, outdoor fireplace, and outdoor tabletop board games.

Slocum Platts Architects of Winter Park, Fla., is the architect. The civil engineer is Charlotte Engineering & Surveying Inc. of Tampa, Fla. Clear Engineering LLC of Orlando, Fla., is the lighting designer. CPG of Winter Park, Fla., is the general contractor.

Foster Conant completes landscape architectural contract for Texas project

ORLANDO, FL— Foster Conant & Associates has completed its landscape architectural services contract for Cypress Campus at Denton Station, a privatized off-campus student apartment complex recently completed in Denton, Texas, in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Under its contract with project’s owner, Cypress Denton Station Ltd., Foster Conant provided design, construction documents and construction observation for landscape and hardscape for the 19-acres site.

The project is composed of 14, three-story buildings supported by a gated guardhouse, clubhouse/leasing office, recreational amenities and surface parking. The $30 million project provides 348, one- to four-bedroom, fully furnished apartments serving students of nearby University of North Texas and Texas Women’s University.

Jordan Construction Services of Dallas, Texas, was the general contractor. Forum Architecture of Altamonte Springs, Fla., was the architect. Allison Engineering Group LP of Denton, Texas, provided civil engineering.

Foster Conant completes landscape for The First Academy in Orlando, FL

ORLANDO, FL— Foster Conant & Associates recently completed its contract for site-specific landscape architecture for The First Academy Middle-Upper School in Orlando, Fla.

Under its scope of services with the owner, Foster Conant provided design, construction documents and construction observation for landscape, irrigation, hardscape for commemorative plazas, and a parking lot.

The landscape architects seamlessly integrated approximately 4.5-acres surrounding the new two-story, 80,000-square-foot classroom building into the existing campus.


According to Foster Conant Principal René A. Ramos, RLA several noted specimens were specified in the design including large Drake Elm trees in planters on the main plaza at the entryway, and seven 200-gallon Magnolias planted along the building’s perimeter to complement the character of the architecture.

Architecture for the project was provided by Royal Architecture & Design of West Palm Beach, Fla. Tipton Associates Inc. of Orlando, Fla., provided civil engineering.

Orlando’s oldest landscape architectural firm turns 40

ORLANDO, FL— The City of Orlando’s oldest landscape architectural firm, Foster Conant & Associates, is celebrating 40 years in business this month.

Since its founding in 1969 by the late Bert T. Foster (middle left photo), the Firm has provided site-specific landscape architectural design services for more than 5,000 projects.

Richard R. Conant, (top right photo) FASLA joined Foster in 1973 and has led the practice since 1987.

With the Firm’s primary focus on resort, hospitality and entertainment projects, Orlando has provided the practice with unprecedented challenges to meet the thematic and visual needs of tourist venues, notes Conant.

Foster Conant to design landscape for new building at First Baptist Orlando

ORLANDO, FL, Dec. 8, 2008 — H. J. High Construction Co. awarded the landscape architectural contract to Foster Conant & Associates for First Baptist Orlando Legacy Center to be located on the Orlando, Fla., campus of the church.(top left photo)

Using the design-build delivery method, Foster Conant is providing the construction and design team with site-specific landscape architectural services that include landscape, irrigation, grading, hardscape, amenities and site lighting layout for the new four-story, 95,000-square-foot administrative and senior adult ministry facility.

According to Foster Conant’s managing principal and lead landscape architect for the project, Richard R. Conant, (top right photo) FASLA, design has begun on the exterior area surrounding the planned building. Design and construction documents are nearing completion. A schedule for construction has not been set.
