JLL welcomes Stephanie Phipps to its Value and Risk Advisory platform

 CHICAGO, IL, Oct. 26, 2023 – JLL’s Value and Risk Advisory platform announced today that it has welcomed Stephanie Phipps as a Director within its multi-housing sector led by Executive Managing Director Kai Pan.

Phipps will work alongside the current Build-to-Rent (BTR) subsector team lead Executive Director Jason Allen.

 

Phipps, an experienced Certified General Appraiser, will bring expertise to the subdivision and build-to-rent subsector at JLL, further strengthening the group’s capabilities across the U.S.

 

“We are thrilled to welcome Stephanie to our Value and Risk Advisory platform,” said Pan. “Her expertise in subdivision and build-to-rent assignments will significantly enhance our ability to serve clients nationwide.”

Phipps is joining JLL from BBG out of the Pacific Northwest region, where she spent the last seven years. Multi-family, subdivisions and most recently build-to-rent projects are the fields of expertise that have been her focus over the last several years.

 

Phipps holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Texas and is a Candidate for Designation with the Appraisal Institute

Sale of a newly constructed, Class A industrial facility closes in South Dallas, TX

DALLAS, TX–  JLL Capital Markets announced it represented the seller in the sale of Southfield Park 35 – Building 5, an industrial facility totaling 489,310 square feet in DeSoto, Texas.

The property, developed by Seefried Industrial Properties and Affinius Capital, was delivered in September 2022.

 

Situated on 33.91 acres, the best-in-class asset features 40-foot heights, 185-foot truck court depths, 117 dock doors and 144 trailer parking spaces with the ability to create an additional 50 trailer parks.

Cornell Hotel Society Announces The Second Hotelie Hall of Fame Inductees

 ITHACA, NY--The Cornell Hotel Society (CHS) Hall of Fame Nomination/Selection Committee  announced the 2023 honorees to enter the Cornell Hotelie Hall of Fame (HoF).  The honorees will be celebrated during Hotelie Super Sunday on November 12, 2023, at The Pierre in New York City. 

 

The Hall of Fame inductees for 2023 are:

  • Burton "Skip" Sack ’61

Additionally, Karim Abouelnaga ’13 has been selected to receive this year’s Rising Star award, recognizing early Hotelie successes.

 

Created with the vision and leadership of Ted Teng ‘79 and coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the founding of what is now known as the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, the HOF event recognizes alumni of the School of Hotel Administration who have distinguished themselves as industry leaders.  The affair recognizes stalwarts from across the 100 years of Hotelie history.

The mission of the Cornell Hotelie Hall of Fame is to:

 

  • Celebrate Cornell Hotelie successes
  • Build a library of inspirational stories for applicants, students, faculty and alumni
  • Hold an annual reunion of Hotelies to share the fellowship of Hotelie for Life
  • Fortify the school’s brand in the industry by featuring Hotelie successes

The Nomination/Selection Committee is responsible for choosing the inductees annually and is comprised of Hotelies from different generations, geographic regions and segments of the industry.  The  criteria for nomination/selection are:

 

  • Contribution to the hospitality industry
  • Contribution to the community
  • Contribution to the Cornell Nolan School of Hotel Administration

“The committee has chosen a very special class of 11 inductees representing many aspects of Hotelie successes,” said Jeff Scott MPS ‘91 and current president of the global Cornell Hotel Society. 

 

Committee Chair Ted Teng noted, “While we didn’t start out with a theme for this class, as we selected the inductees, the theme of ‘Game Changers’ emerged.  These Hotelies didn’t just play the game better than others, they literally changed the game for the industry.”
