Eggert earns certification from North American Technician Excellence organization

ORLANDO, FL — Kenneth A. Eggert,(top right photo) residential division manager at Shaw Mechanical Services LLC, has earned service technician and HVAC equipment certification from North American Technician Excellence Inc., an independent, third-party organization that promotes and develops excellence of installation and service of mechanical systems.

Eggert, who joined Shaw Mechanical Services in early 2008, has 20 years of experience.

Additionally, he is certified by as an Environmental Control System Installer-Servicer by the Florida Department of Labor, as a Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Universal Technician by Ferris State University, is factory-trained and certified by major manufacturers of heating ventilating and air conditioning equipment, and received training for OTI 500 Occupational Safety and Health for the Construction Industry.

Shaw Mechanical Services wins contract for Seminole County, FL school

ORLANDO, FL-- Shaw Mechanical Services LLC has secured a $1.8 million contract with Mark Construction Company for mechanical contracting services for additions and renovations to Sterling Park Elementary School on Eagle Circle in Casselberry, Fla.

Shaw Mechanical’s scope of services includes purchasing, installation, equipment start-up and commissioning of two air-cooled chillers, primary and secondary pumping, nine central station AHU’s and 75 fan terminal boxes.

The campus will remain occupied during the 18-month construction schedule that calls for the construction of two new, two-story, 85,000-square-foot classroom buildings and the renovation of an existing building. Completion is scheduled for December 2009.

The Seminole County Public Schools project is being built by general contractor, Mark Construction Company of Longwood, Fla. Architecture is provided by SchenkelShultz Architects, Orlando, Fla. Matern Professional Engineering Inc. of Maitland, Fla., is providing mechanical engineering.

Shaw Mechanical wins renovation contract at Stetson University

ORLANDO, FL— Shaw Mechanical Services LLC is handling mechanical contracting for additions and renovations to five fraternity houses on the Stetson University campus in Deland, Fla. .

Under its $400,000 contract with Deland-based Bace Construction, Shaw Mechanical is providing pre-construction services, value engineering, purchasing, installation, equipment start-up and commissioning for new air conditioning units, chilled water systems and ductwork for the five, two-story houses that total 26,400-square-feet of conditioned space.

The project is scheduled for completion this year. The architect is Carter Architect, P.A. of Deland, Fla. Mechanical engineering is provided by KTD Consulting Engineers of Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Shaw Mechanical nixes annual party to focus on corporate giving

ORLANDO, FL, Nov. 11, 2008 — Times what they are, Shaw Mechanical Services LLC has decided to forego its annual giving and thanks party for clients and staff this year to renew its sponsorship of the Destiny Foundation of Central Florida.

For 2009, Shaw Mechanical has committed to continue its three-point corporate giving program announced at last year’s bash that included a monetary donation, 80-hours of employee paid-volunteer-time and in-kind maintenance service for the Foundation’s 72-tons of HVAC equipment.

In 2008, Shaw Mechanical presented Destiny Foundation with a check for $5,000, provided $7,000 in servicing the Foundation’s 72-tons of HVAC equipment, and paid staff to volunteer at the Foundation’s warehouse and grocery store located on Michigan Avenue near downtown Orlando, Fla.

Shaw Mechanical Services secures contract with Welbro Building Corp. for Haines City, FL park

ORLANDO, FL, Oct. 30, 2008 — Welbro Building Corp. has awarded a $900,000 contract to Orlando, Fla.-based Shaw Mechanical Services LLC for mechanical contracting for new buildings and additions currently under construction in Lake Eva Park, (top right rendering) a 28-acre park being renovated and expanded by Haines City under the Haines City Community Redevelopment Agency in Polk County, Fla.

Shaw Mechanical Services is providing pre-construction services and installation of HVAC systems, including an air-cooled chiller, chilled water air handlers, controls and associated sheet metal work for a new banquet facility, aquatic center, pro shop, band shell, restrooms, maintenance building and an addition to the community center totaling 63,400-square-feet.

The project is scheduled for completion in July 2009.

The park also includes tennis and basketball courts, two playgrounds, a band shell, bike and pedestrian paths, an aquatic park, a fishing pier and boat ramp.

Welbro Building Corp. of Maitland, Fla., is the general contractor. Orlando, Fla.-based Rhodes + Brito Architects is the architect, and BCA-GAS Inc. of Maitland, Fla., is the mechanical engineer.

ORLANDO, FL, Oct. 21, 2008 — Shaw Mechanical Services LLC has secured a one-year continuing services contract with Lake County Schools, Tavares, Fla., for HVAC mechanical contracting services.

Under the terms of the contract, Shaw Mechanical will provide budget estimating, value engineering, installation, equipment start-up and commissioning services for the repair or replacement of mechanical systems, ductwork and controls for the school district’s 32 facilities county wide.
