Henin to Begin Construction of another Tavares, FL Community Early Next Year

Jerome Henin
TAVARES, FL – Henin Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of the Winter Park-based Henin Group, has purchased a 36-acre parcel for $2.4 million with plans to develop a communitycalled Seaport Village off of State Road 19 and County Road 561 in Tavares.

Henin, who hired Gary Beverly and Steve Young of Civil Design Solutions in Maitland to design the new subdivision, said site construction is expected to begin the first quarter of 2022.

The single-family home community – which will be located on Slim Haywood Avenue – recently received county approval of its PSP (preliminary site plan) for 146 homesites of 60-foot widths, according to Jerome Henin, CEO of Henin Group.

Earlier this year Henin received approval of 115 units in Elmwood, a nearby 32-acre tract purchased in 2020 for $2 million.

Preferred homebuilder D.R. Horton recently started construction at that community on David Walker Drive and old US 441, “not too far from Seaport Village,” Henin said.

“The attraction for me is that this area of Lake County is in a major growth mode due to a new interchange coming at US 441 and SR 46 and completion of the beltway around Central Florida.”

In addition to the Seaport Village development, Henin has also purchased an adjacent 20 acres on which he plans to build approximately 350 apartments.
